With our country finally headed in the right direction, some people are beyond ready to undo the damage inflicted by former President Barack Obama. Proving just that, Wisconsin just hit every freeloader in the state with some very bad news – and the entitled brats are downright furious over what they must do now for their favorite freebie.
Welfare fraud is running rampant throughout the country, and it has been that way for quite some time. Of course, those who pay close enough attention can probably figure out that it’s all part of the plan – at least if you’re a Democrat.
Those on the right want to tighten requirements for government handouts while those on the left want to give them to whoever feels entitled to them because, in the end, it’s nothing more than a pay-for-vote scheme.
Democrats hand out hard-earned taxpayer dollars in hopes that recipients will vote blue. In return, the money keeps flowing. The cycle continues as these entitled freeloaders learn that if they want the freebies to keep coming, there’s only one requirement – get out there and vote Democrat during the next election cycle.
It’s a smart strategy if you’re a crooked politician. For those of us who pay taxes and see our national debt continuing to climb, well, it’s another story entirely. Add that to the fact that some dishonest freeloaders are seen wearing new clothes and buying expensive accessories, such as jewelry, purses, and shoes, and it’s enough to make anyone blow their top.
Too bad for freeloaders everywhere, the time of Obama’s government handouts is over because we are under new leadership that actually cares about the hard-working Americans who fund these programs that are plagued by fraud. Even better yet, individual states are taking advantage of the situation and reducing their financial output by making sure they’re only giving money away to people who actually need it.
Take, for example, Wisconsin. According to Star Tribune, “Gov. Scott Walker moved ahead Monday with his plans to make Wisconsin the first state to drug test able-bodied adults applying for food stamps.”
Wisconsin’s plan was approved by the Republican-controlled Legislature more than two years ago, but it languished because it conflicts with federal rules prohibiting states from imposing additional eligibility criteria on food stamp recipients…
Walker asked then-President elect Donald Trump’s administration in December 2016 to make clear that drug screening is permissible, but it has not taken action and now Walker is moving ahead anyway. [Source: Star Tribune]
Currently, state legislators have 4 months to review the law that was approved by Republican leadership over two years ago. From there, it could take an additional year before it goes into effect.
People have been saying for quite some time that we should feel secure in where our money is going and who we’re helping. Too often, we see people taking advantage of the system while having all the luxuries in life, and then some.
Considering the fact that people are getting somewhere around $150 a week in food stamps but still have the cash to buy drugs, it’s not hard to understand why people are ticked off. Of course, Democrats have bashed the new rule, saying that the government shouldn’t be spending their “scarce” resources on a “witch hunt.”
Then again, these are the same people who don’t mind giving out whatever amount of money they can to ensure they’re reelected. Sadly, even the AP is trying to downplay what would happen:
— AP Central U.S. (@APCentralRegion) December 4, 2017
Drug tests generally cost between ten and thirty bucks, depending on the type of test. Compare that with the $7,800/year (at $150/week average) you would save on denying a druggie benefits that they don’t deserve and the picture becomes rather clear. Not to mention all of those drug users who would be deterred from even applying, knowing they’d be subjected to drug testing — that’s where the real savings is at.
Even if the information provided by AP was true, the 220 people found to be doing drugs, would save the state roughly $1,716,000 every year — and I’m guessing it’s actually a lot higher. In the end, it’s laughable that anyone has the gall to complain. They should be thankful for everything they get.
When you start contributing to society by paying taxes rather than taking them, you can have a say in how we, as a society, spend that money. Then again, if everyone who had a problem with this had a job, it wouldn’t have been an issue in the first place.
