During a press conference Tuesday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders chewed up and spit out a reporter who challenged the secretary’s assertion that former FBI Director James Comey broke the law when he leaked memos after he left the organization.
The reporter asked why Comey’s leaks would be illegal if they contained no classified information.
Huckabee Sanders was obviously prepared for the question and wasted no time setting the reporter straight.
“Leaking FBI memos on a sensitive case regardless of classification violates federal laws including the Privacy Act, standard FBI employment agreements, and nondisclosure agreements all personnel must sign,” Huckabee Sanders began.
“He claims they were private property, but they clearly followed the protocol of an official FBI document,” she continued. “I think that is clean and clear that that would be a violation.”
That’s about as clear-cut as it gets.
Huckabee Sanders explained that Comey’s leaking of information, along with his “questionable statements under oath, politicizing investigations,” were the reasons why he was fired, adding that “the president’s decision was 100 percent right, which we’ve said multiple times over and over.”
“In fact, I think the more and more we learn, the more and more that’s been vindicated,” she added.
Huckabee Sanders reminded the reporter that she was talking about the facts pertaining to the matter, which is something that liberals rarely ever consider.
In fact, the left seem to be living in its own reality these days. Liberals appear to be willing to defend Comey because they believe he is the key to obstruction of justice charges against President Donald Trump.
Huckabee Sanders is correct, though — the more we learn about Comey, the more it looks like the president definitely made the right call.
